Coronado Cave
Coronado Cave, located in Cochise County within the Coronado National Memorial, is a natural limestone cave offering visitors a chance to explore Arizona’s underground geology. The cave stretches about 600 feet in length and features large chambers, stalactites, stalagmites, and other unique rock formations. Named in honor of Spanish explorer Francisco Vásquez de Coronado, who passed through the region in the 1540s, the cave is open to the public and accessible via a short, scenic hike. Flashlights and sturdy shoes are recommended for those venturing inside this fascinating, undeveloped cave system nestled in the Huachuca Mountains.
