Arizona Ghost Towns
Fairbank, Arizona is a historic ghost town located along the San Pedro River. Once a bustling hub due to its proximity to the nearby silver mines of Tombstone, Fairbank served as an important railroad stop in the late 1800s. Today, visitors can explore its preserved buildings, including a schoolhouse-turned-museum, and enjoy scenic trails along the river. It offers a glimpse into Arizona’s Wild West past in a peaceful, natural setting.
Little Boquillas Ranch lies just south of Fairbank and was part of a vast cattle ranching operation in the San Pedro Valley. Originally established in the 1800s, the ranch once spanned over 300,000 acres and played a key role in the region’s ranching history. Though no longer operational at its former scale, remnants of the ranch can still be found within the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, reflecting Arizona’s rich ranching heritage.
