LITTLE LEAGUE WORLD SERIES RECORD BREAKER FOR MOST STRIKEOUTS
Willcox's own Hattie Macumber, wearing jersey number 8, delivered a stunning performance in the opening game of the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, North Carolina, on Sunday morning. Macumber's exceptional pitching led to 15 strikeouts, showcasing her dominance on the mound. She allowed only one run and three hits against the Mid-Atlantic team, securing a decisive victory for Willcox.

In addition to Macumber's stellar performance, Julie Larson, number 19, played a pivotal role in the team's offensive success. Larson batted in two crucial runs in the fourth inning, driving home Jayleen Aguirre, number 5, and Hattie Macumber. This strong offensive showing provided the necessary lead to a victorious first game.
