Murph Challenge Hosted by CrossFit Sierra Vista

Each year on Memorial Day, thousands of people around the world come together to honor the life and sacrifice of LT Michael P. Murphy through The Murph Challenge. Known for his selfless heroism as a Navy SEAL, LT Murphy was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously for his actions in Afghanistan during Operation Red Wings in 2005.

The Murph Challenge is the Official annual fundraiser of the LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation. These funds helped complete the LT Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum and Sea Cadet Training Facility in Long Island, NY, preserving his legacy for future generations.

The Murph Challenge is a test of physical, mental, and emotional fortitude. Participants complete a mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another mile run—all while wearing a weighted vest. This grueling workout mirrors the endurance and determination LT Murphy embodied, urging participants to push through every rep in his honor.
