Willcox, Ariz. — The City of Willcox officially opened its brand new pool and splash pad at Keiller Park on Saturday, May 24, 2025, with a lively celebration that included local dignitaries, business owners, and residents ready to make a splash.
The event featured State Senator David Gowan, State Representative Lupe Diaz, and Mayor Greg Hancock, alongside members of the Willcox City Council. In true Willcox fashion, Mayor Hancock "cut" the ribbon with a dive into the sparkling new pool—fully dressed in his suit—to the cheers of the crowd.

Keiller Park, a beloved community hub since the 1960s, owes its existence to the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). In 1966, a LWCF grant funded the construction of the park’s original wading and swimming pools, bathhouse, and tennis courts, laying the foundation for generations of summer memories. Now, nearly 60 years later, the revitalization of the pool and splash pad has been made possible through the dedication of the city and the generous support of local citizens and businesses.
This project has been a long time in the making, with an estimated total cost of nearly $3.6 million. The result is a modern aquatic facility that promises to be a summer highlight for Willcox families, offering both afternoon and evening swim options. Tickets are affordably priced at just $3 for adults and $1–$2 for children, ensuring accessibility for all.

For those eager to build their swimming skills, the city is also offering morning swim lessons this summer, with two session times and three group levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Registration for swim lessons is available online at https://our.willcox.az.gov/willcoxar_pool.
