SSVEC celebrated its 87th Annual Meeting at the Klein Center for Performing Arts Auditorium at Buena High School on May 29, 2025. CEO Jason Bowling was joined by cooperative members, Congressman Juan Ciscomani, Arizona Corporation Commission Chair Kevin Thomson, Commissioner Lea Marquez Peterson, and SSVEC Board Members. The event kicked off with a $30,000 check presentation to Lori’s Place in Sierra Vista, a donation made in partnership with COBANK for their outstanding contributions to the community.

Bowling reviewed the cooperative’s progress and changes over the last year, focusing on SSVEC’s mission to provide safe, reliable, and affordable electric service. He highlighted advancements in infrastructure and technology designed to better serve members. Bowling also recognized the hard work and dedication of SSVEC’s lineworkers, a key part of the cooperative’s success.
Bowling highlighted SSVEC lineworker Efren Gallego, who recently competed in the International Lineman's Rodeo. Gallego placed third overall among electric cooperative competitors and fourth among all competitors in the international field—an outstanding achievement celebrated by the entire cooperative.
The annual meeting brought together cooperative members and leaders to recognize the past year’s accomplishments and to look ahead to future initiatives, like reducing exposure to volatile market rates, that will strengthen the cooperative and benefit its members.
