BISBEE, Ariz. (SVL) — A Bisbee landmark with deep roots in Arizona’s commercial history is now on the market. Ballpark Brewing Company, housed in a building originally constructed in 1908 as the Henderson Lumber Company, has been officially listed for sale by its current owners.
Located at 97 Center Avenue, just up the street from the historic Warren Ballpark, the building holds the distinction of being one of the area’s first commercial structures in Arizona's first planned community. Over the decades, it has stood as a representation of Bisbee’s rich industrial and mining heritage.
The current owners have announced their intention to sell the business and property to a long-term operator who shares their commitment to the community. They emphasized that the brewery will remain open during the sale process to ensure continuity for patrons and staff.

In late 2022, the property was purchased by the Vertrees brothers, four Bisbee-born siblings with a vision to restore the historic site and create a gathering place that locals could be proud of. After a significant renovation effort, which included the installation of new brewing, bar, and restaurant equipment, as well as modern furnishings and appliances, Ballpark Brewing Company officially opened its doors to the public in April 2024.
Named and themed in honor of the Warren Ballpark, one of the oldest continuously operating ballparks in the United States, Ballpark Brewing Company quickly became a community hub. It is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, local brew, and its homage to the unique history of the Warren neighborhood.

“We set out to create something special that honors Bisbee’s history while giving residents and visitors a place to come together,” Daniel Vertrees said during an interview with Sierra Vista LIVE about the decision to sell. “We are proud of what it has become and are looking for the right buyer to continue that vision for years to come.” Daniel said he and his family are proud to have been able to revitalize the historic Warren building and wish for the brewery to continue being a place for locals and visitors to enjoy.

The sale includes the fully renovated building, brewing and kitchen equipment, bar and restaurant furnishings, and all related fixtures. Prospective buyers have the opportunity to take over a turn-key operation in a building that represents more than a century of Bisbee’s commercial legacy.
