Located on "winery row" in Elgin, Twisted Union Wine Company has become a signature destination with visitors from across the nation who come to experience the profiles of exceptional wines in Sonoita Wine Country. The winery is a popular spot for wine tours from Tucson and Phoenix as well as guests who are looking to spend a relaxing weekend in one of their suites.

Founded in 2019, the winery has made its mark with premium-quality wines that honor the unique characteristics of the West. "We have become known for producing award-winning blends and single varietal wines with Old World influences and New World flavors," said Kati Spencer, the winery's managing partner. Those flavors have earned Twisted Union numerous awards, including the 2025 Governor's Cup for Best Dessert Wine. The award was presented for the winery’s 2022 Bake Sale, a decedent blend of Tempranillo, Petite Sirah, and Mourvèdre with dark fruit flavors like boysenberry, blueberry and fig.

Twisted Union’s top-selling wines showcase an array of winemaking styles, all produced from grapes grown exclusively in southeastern Arizona. These carefully curated blends and single-varietal offerings continue to attract wine lovers to Elgin. The 2022 Ground Breaker is a top pick among guests. This dry red features a blend of Bordeaux and Spanish grapes with flavors of boysenberry, red currant, black currant and black cherry. If you prefer a medium body, go for the Arm Candy, with flavors of fresh grapefruit, lemon, and honey with hints of pear and ginger.

It’s not just the wine that draws visitors down to Arizona's first American Viticultural Area. Twisted Union offers a unique hospitality experience with luxury accommodations located directly above the tasting room. Guests can book one of two estate house suites for an immersive vineyard retreat—an offering that sets the winery apart from others in the region.

Two suite options are available for guests to choose from that include a vineyard or mountain view with a king bed, spacious bathroom, and private balcony, offering the perfect weekend stay. Guest can easily book through their Airbnb listing.

The winery frequently hosts events and seasonal promotions. On Saturday, June 14, they will be featuring Rosé specials for National Rosé Day. Stop in to enjoy live music, flights with pairings, and 15% off Rosé bottles.

To celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday, June 15, Twisted Union is inviting everyone out for a Kalua pork barbecue lunch with a glass of wine and live music. Guests are encouraged to bring their own inflatable pools, which the winery will fill and decorate with beach-themed accessories for an unforgettable summer chill-out. Tickets are available in advance online.
